Graz has not only public spaces – above all, we do have space!
On the weekend of March 27 and 28, Südwind Steiermark followed the invitation of the initiative „Weekend for Moria“ an declared solidarity with humans living in refugee camps at Europe´s external borders.
Cohesion as a carrier of hope
The action framework mediated a special feeling of cohesion, it united people from diverse viewpoints by focusing on the core topic of calling (city) politics to action and enabling refugees to live in dignity.
In particular, artistically designed as well as very personal speeches of those present, expressed this demand and made it clear: together we are many.
Due to the Covid-19 Situation it is essential that the form of the event will change in the future, but the claim will not – until politics also takes a look.
